My name is Julianna, nice to meet you! I’m a senior at Liberty University, studying Biomedical Sciences. I am extremely passionate about missions work, and I started this blog as a way to keep family and friends updated about my first longer-term missions trip, a two-month internship to Nigeria in the summer of 2018.
My dream in life is to attend medical school and become a physician, and to eventually serve long-term overseas as a medical missionary. I view medicine as an opportunity to serve patients and meet their physical needs while also addressing their spiritual needs.
As a bit more background about myself, I enjoy reading, swimming, and learning more about God’s creation. I’m passionate about science because it helps me understand the vastness of the God I serve. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, and playing/listening to music.
The name of this blog comes from the classic hymn “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” from the fourth verse:
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be.
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love.
Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above.
I adapted the title a bit, but I chose it because I feel like this verse of the hymn so accurately conveys what my spiritual journey has been like so far. I am not a perfect, always dutiful, always faithful Christian. I love God deeply, yet I wrestle with doubt and wrestle with following His will. Yet I have seen in my life how God uses every circumstance to draw me closer to Himself. My prayer and my hope is that God will use this blogging experience to draw me closer to His heart, and that He will do the same for you as well.
